Rats. You might scream and prolly piss yourself. That rat might carry a plague. So , why are some people keeping them as pets? Ay , people with murophobia are most likely to faint about there and there. Most of people , typically girls , think that they are very disgusting.
WRONG.
If you are talking about domesticated rats , then your wrong.
Feral rats you see at your house are different. They do carry some disease , but the domestic ones don't. In fact , they are sweet , neat and cuddly. They are like a mix if a cat and a dog. I mean , you have your reasons on hating feral rats , but please , do not include domestic ones. It is really sad.
So now , what cause people to hate rats?
Well , mainly because of : plague ( a wild one might carry ) , parents ( sheez , parents are clueless) telling bad stories , and that they are filthy.
No . Dude , you seriously need to calm down.
All of the things that listed above may cause murophobia. The fear of rats and mice.
The solution you ask?
The method I suggest you to try is to pet a DOMESTIC rat. ( Random note : LOL , they are soo adorkable!) .
I wouldn't suggest keeping one. Yet. If you think you are ready to take care of rats and mice , then voila! Have a rattific day!
Oh! If you see a little rat or mice visiting your house , the best bet is live traps.
They are a type of traps that if an animal comes to bait , the door will close and the animal is trap. Alive. Just like putting Max into his kennel. No biggie. No killing! They actually are humane , so yeah.
Do not use glue traps or killing traps!
They cause poor creatures to die out of dehydration and kills them! So inhumane!
So , what to do for a rat inside trap? Your best bet is to release it somewhere far (they sometimes become invasive , depends!) where they belong. Careful though. They may invade the area . Choose wisely!
Another humane way is to call a friendly pest control. Some actually don't kill those little visitors , some kills . Pick the first one ;)
Now , I am not going into to details on domestic rat care. But I know they are good for starters. Must be kept in pairs !
